kent Brockman  What's in a blog anyway? OK, new music stuff, Phantoms are red hot and another win  for the Birds about to come. Everybody put down your glasses Ivana Tinkle!
Another TD for TO!

11/21/2004 2:05 PM--Things are looking up. The Phantoms have won 13 in a row (going for 14 tonight in Providence) and the Eagles can take a stranglehold on the NFC East with wins the next two weeks. And what do I have to say "Dead Meat!" The Skins are starting Patrick Ramsey and the Giants have Eli Manning; both are young, unproven quarterbacks who'll see heavy doses of the blitz.

So what is in a blog anyway? Updates about a site, shit that happened to the writer, social commentary? Maybe all of those things put together but mine have lines from the Simpsons too! So you see, now I have friends coming to this site, look at the tag board. Even if I need to delete some (Horney T) it's still great to see. Although I guess I'm being hypocritical by deletling some messages even though I'm against cenorship and for artistic merit;however, you have to draw a line in the sand somewhere. Just be mindful of other people coming here; now I know I'll get over ran with dirty language but, meh!

Saturday I am going to a comedy show for my buddy Joey Callahan at my local Knights of Columbus council. I better be there, I helped book the show. I'll also return to movie reviews later this week, probably Friday when I'm off from work. I'm not sure what I'll see but I'll try to pick a good one. I'll also be working on my No Doubt site so updates here may slow down. If you haven't checked out the "Real Life" page, do so. I've added lots of joke type stuff recently.

kent Brockman  Is there anything more comforting than breakfast for dinner? Well, there a new season of The Simpsons. Eagles lose, ok, we knew it wouldn't last. Meet the Fockers trailer...
Greatest show ever!

11/10/2004 9:16 AM--Ok, the Eagles lost. It would be too good to be true for them to go undefeated. Anyway, they went longer than I thought they would without losing. Next up is the underachieving Cowboys on Monday Night Football; there's a remedy for the first loss of the season. So as the headline says, I had breakfast for dinner on Sunday as The Simpsons began to air new episodes. This is thier 16th season, by the end there'll be over 350 shows in the can! Is there any show that can have a longer run on television in the same format? I think not.

The sequel to Meet the Parents , "Meet the Fockers" is out December 22nd and here's a preview: 300K || 700K. You heard that name right. Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand will play Mr. and Mrs. Focker, the quite embarrassing parents of Gaylord "Greg" Focker, played by Ben Stiller.

For those of you craving hockey, check out the minor leagues. I've already been to 3 Phantoms games this season. Next Friday, November 19th, I will take a sign "Coatsey's right, Let 'Em Fight!" to the game which will be on Sportsnet. Look for me behind where the Phantoms shoot twice. On last Friday night they won thier 14th game in a row against the Hersey Bears, good stuff. I even saw Dennis "Bones" Bonvie squirt water at a fan when he got heckled by the crowd. If you don't know, he's one of those Matthew Barnaby/Darius Kasparaitis type players you love to hate.

I will work on some stuff while I'm at my parents house today doing my wash. I have Eagles stories to write, a real life page to update and get started on my new design for my No Doubt site. That'll take me to the end of November. Speaking of No Doubt Universe's check this out. Not only did the dude use the same name but also look at his email address, very similar to mine. Sheesh, you'd think he'd be able to come up with an original idea and name for his site. I have yet to mail this guy to ask him why he's trying to cash in on a 'sorta' brand name as I've created with nearly 8 years on the net.

kent Brockman  God, We love our idiots!

10/26/2004 5:12 PM--It's been over a month since my last post. Just so you know, the title of this blog is something being said around Boston these days. The Red Sox are 2 games away from lifting the curse of Babe Ruth and well, the fans are affectionatly calling the team idiots because they are not the greatest fielding team and sometimes make errors in bad times. I've been kept up by baseball since the beginning of the Yankees-Red Sox series since they been long games --going four hours long most nights. I'd have to say that despite the admiration I have for Jim Edmunds, I am rooting for the Sox.

Ken Jennings is still on Jeopardy! and went over the 2 million dollar mark last night. If you're interested in seeing his statistics click here. If the rumors are correct, he'll be on the show until the week starting November 15th, save for another themed week. What will we do after he's gone? Will we, the royal we as the Dude put it, still watch Jeopardy waiting for the next Super champion?

"Ray", the Ray Charles biopic comes out Friday. I WILL post a review next week after I see it. Yes, I know I haven't updated my movie Reviews in a long time but it also appaers like this site is losing steam, nobody has tagged me in a while, or signed my guestbook. The good news is the Eagles are 6-0 after squeaking by the Browns this week. I think a win is a win no matter how close or by what way it happens, they are the only NFC team left undefeated. My latest article will be up tomorrow. I've got lots of things to catch up on.

kent Brockman  Eagles Win!! I got mine

9/21/2004 12:28 PM--
I have my Star Wars DVD
The day the Star Wars DVD comes out is finally here! I went to FYE where it is $49.99, plus a $15.00 mail in rebate. After work I'm gonna grab a seat, some cheese bean dip, tortilla chips and watch "Empire of Dreams", the two and a half hours documentry about the Original Trilogy. Come on, it's not like I've never seen the movies.

Speaking of movies, sometime this week I'll see Mr. 3000 and write a review. The only sports article for the time being will be about each week's Eagles game; that is, unless something very interesting comes up. I know I waited too long to write something about the Giants game but an article about the Vikings game is coming very soon. The only other topic I may tackle for a while is the NHL lockout which is now in effect.

As for the DVD section, there'll be a lot going on. I have my list backed up to about 115 movies and that'll be up soon. The "Spotlight" on Unforgiven will be up later this week; probably on Friday. With these updates the list is basically done. I will get myself caught up on promises I made to myself, I know it. By the way, I'm about to update the Coming Attractions which will be abbreviated until everything is up to par.

kent Brockman  Six Feet Under; Confidence level is high; I've NOT yet lost on Jeopardy, baby!

9/10/2004 10:56 PM--
Smart guy or money grabbing punk?
So much to say and so little time... Well, Ken Jennings won again today. His streak is up to 43 I believe and I just heard a rumor on a message board (who knows how reliable it really is) that he lost after 75 games with $2.5 million in winnings. Talking about it almost makes me want to watch Quiz Show.

It's been all summer and I've yet to talk about one of my favorite shows, Six Feet Under. It's on HBO (say it with me like Billy Connely said, "H-B-OOOOOO!! You know?") and for those unintitated it basically about sex, drugs and and a family of undertakers. I miss Arthur, glad to see Nate and Brenda back and loathe George; something about the dude just irks me. All in all it shaped up to be a good season with hilarious death opening sequences, who could forget the religous nut walking into traffic when she thought she saw angels but really saw porno blow up dolls drifting into the LA sky? Sunday is the Season Finale with David confronting the carjacker who beat him up and Lisa's family getting cut off by Nate. Great stuff, if you ask me.

Charley Steiner's the man
I'm a big sports fan, as if you didn't know. Yes, I'm bummed Chico and the rest of Team USA lost in the World Cup of Hockey tonight, but there's bigger fish to fry. There needs to be a NHL season this year. With ESPN celebrating 25 years on the air this week I have a special treat. Click on Charley Steiner to your right and watch a classic "This is Sportscenter" commerical about the Y2K bug. Mark McGwire with the dear in the headlights look, classic! To see more of these commericals head on over to
The Sportscenter Altar or to ESPN's offical page with better resolution videos.

I updated my picture on my real life page and finally updated my disc changer. This weekend I'll post more DVD stuff, my Eagles season preview and really get up to date with my movie reviews. I will not see a new movie until I am caught up, for sure this time! Star Wars is coming, I can taste it. If you can't wait for media hype, check out A&E on Sunday Night at 8 (with a repeat at 10) for "Star Wars: Empire of Dreams", a 2 hour special about the original trilogy that will be on the DVD set in 10 days. 10 days?! woo-hoo!!

kent Brockman  In my glory, so to speak

8/25/2004 9:30 PM--
Me in my glory? maybe
Just a quick note. I will only archive Harold and Kumar and put a full review up for the Village; a somewhat forgettable but good movie. The one bright spot in the movie is the performance of Ron Howard's daughter Byrce Dallas Howard who played the leading part. The picture you see to your left is from a couple of weeks ago. Now am I really in my glory? Ok got the Mint Snapple, check. Watching CHiPs on TV? no. Oh well! But I do have in the picture the brand new Jevon Kearse jersey, a DVD with 2 movies I recieved for 1 cent (with Kill Bill Vol. 2) and a picture of Darth Vader on my computer screen (don't forget, only 25 days until the Star Wars classic Trilogy comes out on DVD. woo hoo!! can't wait.). oh yeah, check out the widescreen look of the picture because Dan had his thumb in front of the lense and I cropped it out.

That's all for now. And if you think I was kidding about giving up drinking, don't think it. While I may not be able to keep the promise forever, it'll definetly hold up for quite a while. I've got no desire to drink for a long time. All this talk and I've yet to mention Six Feet Under; I'll save that for the next blog.
